A couple of days ago I saw a bluebird in our yard. Today when I went out to feed the critters I saw a robin. These are good signs.
I remembered that I had bought a couple of birdhouses a few weeks ago. We have a mentally retarded fellow who lives around here who makes and sells birdhouses. He sets up a booth in front of our local hardware store and has several on display every day, rain or shine. He's like the mail service -- "Neither rain nor snow, nor sleet nor hail..." One day I felt sorry for the poor fellow sitting out there in the rain while I was visiting the hardware store, so I bought a couple of his finest. Today I put them up to welcome my favorite season.
